# Fork a Universe Dataset

You can copy data from a Universe dataset into your account using the Fork Project feature.

To fork a project, you must be logged into your Roboflow account.

### Fork a Project

First, find a dataset on Universe that you want to use in your computer vision project.

Next, click the "Use this Dataset", and then the "Fork Project" button:

The dataset will then be copied into your Roboflow Workspace.

Once the project has been copied, you will be taken to a page where you can generate a Project Version using the dataset:

You can then change the project however you want, or train a model using the dataset.

If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.roboflow.com/universe/fork-a-universe-dataset.md?ask=<question>
```

The question should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
